Justin Duerr

Justin Duerr (b. 1976, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States) is a self taught artist, musician, and writer in the Philadelphia underground art and music scene. [1]

Film

Duerr was a researcher for and starred in the Sundance award-winning documentary Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles.[2][3] The film was selected for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Documentary category, and won the category's Directing Award.[4]

Artist

As a visual artist, he is known for large, highly detailed black and white posters drawn with Sharpies. Since 1995, Duerr has published the zine Decades of Confusion Feed the Insect which features his poetry, essays, and drawings. [5]

Musician

Duerr has played as a solo musician as Justin Duerr and the Etheric Phoenix of L.O.V.E.; in the bands Northern Liberties (with Marc Duerr and K), Eulogy, the Vivian Girls Experience (with Enid Crow), One Rat Brain, Aviary 3, Kat Klix, and others.
